maybe I should give up art and start a smoothie shop or something

littlewendycat:

my smoothies are good.

tonight I made one with:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 large nectarine
  • about a cup of lowfat milk (we don’t have soy at my house -_-)
  • four small spoonfuls of honey
  • four ice cubes

depending on how sweet your fruit is I’d alter the honey to taste. I also don’t really like the icy crunch in my smoothies so I use less ice (we actually had one of these little novelty ice trays where they were shaped like balloons, so I guessed that six of those little cubes would equal four regular-sized cubes)

if I’d had matcha powder I would have thrown that in there too; I love matcha and avocado.

Avocado is really thick so I had to put more liquid in than usual. Will keep that in mind for future reference >3<

but those portions make a big fuckin’ smoothie, so you should have someone to share it with!!!

also drink it fast because avocado goes brown fast.

wah omg what a good smoothie

littlewendycat:

I made it with

  • 1 orange
  • 1 spoonful of matcha powder
  • 1 large handful of spinach
  • 2 bananas
  • maybe a cup of almond milk?
  • a couple tablespoons of honey
  • a few ice cubes

you might wanna use more honey because the matcha’s inherently bitter

man we have a blender and I didn’t even touch it until tonight.

HOW WAS THIS SO EASY AND I DIDN’T KNOW? (oh right I’m lazy)

MAYBE I’LL MAKE SOUP NEXT…

it makes a good accompaniment to vegetable and grain soup and crackers for dinner

Chili chocolate smoothie

I made this one because I am obsessed with chili and spiced chocolate.

8 oz milk of choice (I went with cow’s milk this time)

2 scoops cocoa powder (or carob powder), or you can use chocolate syrup in which case, I don’t have a measurement, not that “scoops” is all that exact either.

A liberal amount of cinnamon

As much chili powder as you’d like (I like mine pretty bitey, so I overdid it a little)

Sweetener (I put in two Splendas. Could have used more maybe.)

6 pretty big cubes of ice (so that it’s solid enough)

SO GOOD

Oh, afterthought: chocolate ice cream would have been awesome, too if I had any. :\

Starbucks Via Carob Shake

I made a shake out of a packet of Starbucks instant coffee today!

The recipe I used is below, but feel free to substitute things for what you prefer.

6 oz of Half and Half (or the milk or nondairy beverage of your choice)

2 oz of sugar free almond syrup (or any syrup, or leave the syrup out entirely)

2 scoops (I used a soup spoon lol) of carob powder (or cocoa powder)

1 packet of Via (I used the slightly sweetened iced coffee flavor, but you can use any kind)

Ice (I just put in enough cubes so that it looked like one serving, since I have a one-serving blender)

This is more of a dessert than anything, but it’s delicious if you like frappuccinos. :)

Double-Potassium Smoothie

I created this one today, because I had a banana and an avocado both on their way out (probably would spoil pretty soon if I didn’t use them!).

8 oz almond milk

one whole banana

one whole avocado, halved and pitted

not much ice! I used maybe 3 or 4 medium sized cubes

The almond milk gives it a weird sort of nutty (well duh) flavor, so if it’s your preference, you can use dairy or soy milk for your version if you decide to try it. :) And it’s already sweet because of the banana (especially if you’re using an older banana, since they sweeten as they ripen).

The only bad thing about this one is that it’s a lot of calories. :X But bananas and avocados both have lots of potassium, so if that’s what you’re needing, this is a good smoothie for you!

Hass avocado: 250 cal

Banana: 90 cal

8 oz almond milk: 60 cal

Final count: 400 cal
